Work-Place Skills
Q1) Define stress in your words.
A1) Stress is the feeling of being overwhelmed or unable to cope with mental or emotional pressure. Stress is our body’s response to pressure. Many different situations or life events can cause stress. It is often triggered when we experience something new, unexpected or that threatens our sense of self, or when we feel we have little control over a situation.
Stress can be defined as any type of change that causes physical, emotional, or psychological strain. Stress is your body's response to anything that requires attention or action.
Q2) Describe the techniques to manage stress.
A2) A coping style is a typical manner of confronting a stressful situation and dealing with it. There are three basic coping styles: task-oriented, emotion-oriented, and avoidance-oriented.
1. Altering refers to either removing or lessening the source of stress by changing something. This may occur through such actions as problem solving, communication, time management, planning ahead, organizing, or coordinating.
2. Avoiding refers to the ability to remove yourself altogether from a stressful situation or to figure out how not to be there in the first place. This involves such things as walking away, letting go, saying "no," delegating responsibility, or withdrawing. Avoiding requires two things: recognizing that some stressful things are actually avoidable, and knowing and being willing to act on your own limits.
3. Adapt/Accepting is necessary in those situations that you cannot alter or avoid. Accepting does not mean that you are helpless. It does mean that you must equip yourself by building resistance to the stresses encountered. Building resistance includes such things as getting proper nourishment, rest, and exercise, changing your attitude, building a solid support system, and practicing relaxation techniques.
Q3) What Is Resilience?
A3) Resilience is the ability to mentally or emotionally cope with a crisis or to return to pre-crisis status quickly. Resilience exists when the person uses "mental processes and behaviors in promoting personal assets and protecting self from the potential negative effects of stressors".
1: the capability of a strained body to recover its size and shape after deformation caused especially by compressive stress.
2: an ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change.
Q4) What does it mean Flexibility in Thought?
A4) Flexibility of thought 'allows us to imagine situations outside our immediate daily routine'. Differences with flexibility of thought can manifest themselves in obsessive, repetitive routines and behaviours.
Flexibility of thought is theorized to play a critical role in the ability of high creative individuals to generate novel and innovative ideas.
Flexibility of thought occurs in two main ways:
1.The ability to think about multiple things at the same time
2.The ability to modify thinking based on a change in expectations and/or demands
Q5) Explain flexibility of Behavior.
A5) Behavioral flexibility refers to the adaptive change in the behavior of an animal, in response to changes in the external or internal environment. Ongoing behavior (which might include inactivity) is stopped or modified and new behavior is initiated. Behavioural flexibility is the ability to respond in different ways to different situations. You might choose to be more assertive, or to step back a bit. You might choose to listen more actively or to interrupt. You might say a strong no, or you might call for help quickly and confidently. Behavior is not always flexible
To say that behavior is flexible in this sense can seem like a glimpse of the obvious. To make sense of it, we need to remember the extent to which the behavior of individual animals is often inflexible – or is thought to be.
Q6) What is Self-Belief?
A6) Self-belief (or self-efficacy) is a person’s belief in their ability to complete tasks and to achieve their goals.
•Judging yourself to be capable of success increases your chances of actual success.
•Judging yourself as not capable of success reduces the chance of success.
Self-belief means that you should have enough self-confidence to change, but not over-estimate your abilities, as that could become a fixed mindset attitude.
You should be willing to grow and adapt but still have ideas about your strengths and weaknesses so that you can work on the weaker areas.
Q7) How do you define tolerance?

Q8) What are benefits of good communication in a team?
A8) Benefits of Good Communication in A Team
In the presence of an effective communication network, team members feel important and confident that their opinions count. This is a great source of motivation and satisfaction that encourages team members to continue adding input for the achievement of joint objectives. In the long run, the team is able to utilize all its resources to complete tasks and projects.
An efficient communication system brings together people from different backgrounds with varying ideologies. This creates understanding among teammates for the greater good. The diversity is easily converted into an advantage based on mutual understanding that facilitates progress. Eventually, the entire network is able to benefit from synergy.
Effective teams need to work together towards the achievement of organizational objectives. A team leader will need to work with the team so as to establish ground rules on how to bring the team together. This is an essential step of helping the team build relationships and work together. When communication skills are strong, there are higher chances that good ideas and best practices will be openly shared among team members. Teams that establish a supportive environment among them are in a better position to learn from the best practices of the group.

Q10) What is positive thinking?
A10) Positive thinking, or an optimistic attitude, is the practice of focusing on the good in any given situation. It can have a big impact on your physical and mental health. That doesn't mean you ignore reality or make light of problems.
Positive thinking just means that you approach unpleasantness in a more positive and productive way. You think the best is going to happen, not the worst. Positive thinking often starts with self-talk. Self-talk is the endless stream of unspoken thoughts that run through your head.
